Improvisation Work:
1)Impromptu Speeches (Simple Topics)
- Speak on the topic for 60 seconds
- Begin with a clever opening (not what is on the strip)
- Incorporate the topic into the talk
- Include a main point and specific examples
- Try to set a tone--serious, comedic, light, mysterious
- appeal to your audience
- talk the whole time
2) Impromptu Speeches (Shakespeare Quotes)
- Speak on this more complex quote for 90 seconds
- All the rest is the same
The Activity/Skill Work for Today's Session:
- New Challenge: Song Lyric Interpretations : PERFORM THURSDAY FOR ASSESSMENT & PEER FEEDBACK--videotaped
- Mrs. Hancock checks last session's work
- How much do you know? Self-Test on paper
- Review requirements for the performance
- Practice for 5 minutes alone
- Pair up (Hancock)--give feedback
- Practice for 10 minutes (check the clock)
- Pair up again (student choice)--partners take their script/lyrics away and feed them lines if they need it
- Practice for 10 minutes
- Practice on own if time allows
